I am willing to switch to AT&T - in fact, would prefer to have my iPhone on one carrier, and my Android on some other - but the support response doesn't make me hopeful.
You could bring information technology to att store, inquire them to put a sim in see if it works with their store account, if it works gget the prepaid and switch over. They got a 65 plan that is l after u get car pay. 22 gig high speed unlimited.
Perhaps try, if they say no or doesn't work return it. I effigy the telephone specs are worth the endeavour

VoLTE works on the Chinese rom. I'm guessing next update will fix information technology in global rom (peculiarly considering a lot of folks are lament about this). Wifi calling doesn't crave any special hardware, then I'm guessing that's a possibility down the line if plenty folks complain.Yes information technology's a shame, so we have one t-mobile user with no luck, anyone with att effort it yet? Or possibly another person with t mobile, just to echo the experiment for consistency?
Telephone nails all the basics (photographic camera, screen, battery, functioning), hopefully they add volte and wifi calling in the well-nigh future. Very close to perfection!

So barring any miracles or super surreptitious work arounds, I'm out and back to square one. The Razer 2 has too been on my mind, just by and large considering of the price ($350 at Best Buy) and it's still an LCD screen. If only LG would release something similar the V20, but with updated specs. I'd have that fifty-fifty over the ROG II.

So disallowment any miracles or super secret work arounds, I'grand out and back to square one. The Razer 2 has as well been on my listen, but mostly because of the price ($350 at Best Buy) and it'south still an LCD screen. If but LG would release something like the V20, but with updated specs. I'd take that even over the ROG II.
I would avoid the Razer cause only 845 processor and no aptx Bluetooth codex and camera is simply so so. U less ur phone is like 6 years sometime better to wait for something with 855 plus processor with Android ten and 11 proofing it

If just LG would release something similar the V20, but with updated specs. I'd take that fifty-fifty over the ROG Two.
The LCD on the Razer is pretty darned skillful. I the telephone overall is pretty solid. The drawbacks for me are mic when using speakerphone is wonky (introduced with MR0 update) and no aptX or LDAC. I apply speakerphone a lot and most of my audio stuff is aptX HD or LDAC so gonna sell the Razer Phone 2 and plainly keep looking.

Just talked to support again. They reiterated no go for VoLTE and VoWifi on American carriers. Aught. Shame, every bit the phone is so good otherwise. What a helluva thing for them to disable.
It's like having a Ferrari, opening the gas tank for a fill up and finding a straw coming out. You lot pump gas and two per centum goes in the rest falls to your feet,
. Aye it will piece of work just how many attempts, how far will you get how many disconnects. Tell them to remove the f ing straw haha

Merely talked to support once more. They reiterated no become for VoLTE and VoWifi on American carriers. Zip. Shame, as the phone is so good otherwise. What a helluva thing for them to disable.
It's technically the carriers that disable information technology. It works fine on carriers in other countries using the aforementioned exact ROM image. The US carriers require payment to enable/test/certify those features and North American sales book likely doesn't justify it for Asus' North American sectionalisation.

What about Google Voice? It would use data, simply wouldn't it stay on LTE instead of dropping to 3g?
I tried this. Google Vocalism let's you choose between using your phone app to brand calls or using a data connexion. The data connection option sounds ameliorate.
